Palo Dura Canyon, First 24 hours of Vacation

First stop on vacation was Palo Dura Canyon.  We spent 3 nights and 2 days there.   This was our first night.

We camped in the Hackberry campground, space 20 which was right across from the bathroom/showers.  This was the view looking to the South East from there.
Yep there has to be a few tree/stump pictures.  I like them.
The deer were super friendly.  If you had offered food I feel sure the does would have taken it right out of your hand.  There were even a couple of fawns.
First night we had storms.  They weren't bad, just a some thunder rolling down the canyon.  It was awesome listening to it.
Yep a windmill has to be in my pictures too.

Hiking was the order of the day.   If you notice all the pictures are with the kids ahead of me.  Seems I hike slow.

Day two bright and sunny!  This is the view from the canyon rim, see the fog in the canyon?
We went to Canyon to the big musumn there then after lunch three of them decided to hike the trail to the bottom.  It was only 1.5 miles down.

Sunrise looking to the west from our campsite.
Then there were the turkeys!  They were not as gentle as the deer, but still.
That was the end of the first 24 hours in the park.
